Valentine’s

- Family

I love chocolate and I love flowers, so it only makes sense that I love Valentine’s Day. I always try to do something special with my boys. Usually we make reservations at a nice restaurant in town, get dressed up and go have a good meal. As any parent knows, going out to eat with young children can be more stressful than fun, so this year we decided to have dinner at home. I wanted to make sure it was extra special, so I made sure to dress up the whole table. New plates, new glasses, new bowls and fresh flowers. It turned out so cute! We now have a new tradition in the Cumby household.

Jaxon helped make our dessert. He loves to bake, and it made everything that much more fun to have him help with the preparation.

The finished product was DELICIOUS! Totally worth the huge mess. ?

Just a little tip if you like chocolate cake: The recipe on the back of the Hershey’s dark chocolate cocoa is amazing! I have never had a better cake!

We found an Olive Garden copycat alfredo sauce on Pinterest to make fettuccine alfredo for dinner per Jaxon’s request. It was SO GOOD!

We enjoyed ourselves and Jaxon loved all the decorations. I’m hoping this is a tradition that holds forever. How awesome would it be for my sons to bring home their wives for our annual Valentine’s party?! I know. I’m thinking so far out, but I’m always trying build a foundation for the type of men I want to raise and set the foundation to always give my boys reasons to come back home.

The heart-shaped plates, table runner and candle votives are from Target Dollar Spot. They always have the best cheap holiday finds. The heart-shaped bowls and glasses are from HEB.
