I love making a big deal of my boy’s birthdays. I want to make them feel special and important and happy. Turning one is a BIG DEAL! I chose a Where the Wild Things Are theme for Jasper’s party. His nursery has some elements from the book so I wanted to keep that theme going. Plus it’s a bonus when you can take left over party decorations and use them to decorate your kid’s room!! We hosted the party at our house and invited our family and close friends to join in the celebration. Jasper’s cake smash was probably one of the best first birthday cake smashes ever! He picked up the whole dang cake!!!! It was awesome. I had several family members and friends tell me that was the best they have seen. Pictures below!
I am a stickler for detail and when I get a vision in my head of how I want something to look I can get a bit obsessed. I felt like Jasper’s party turned out perfectly! I searched and searched for the perfect decorations and the perfect cupcake recipes and both were highly complimented so that made me feel good about all the effort I put in. Let’s face it. Jasper has no idea what is really going on. The first birthday party is more for the parents but I’d like to think when he is older and looks at the photo he will enjoy them and appreciate the hard work.
As promised in my last post, here is his 12 month milestone photo. This photo was extremely difficult to catch. He wanted at those balloons and he wanted that hat off of his head.
And my little wild one on the day of his party. I’m obsessed with his cuteness! Look at his cute smile, blonde hair and those little moccasins!?
I just loved his party invites. Remember I said I love the details! I ordered these from a shop on Etsy called Katiedidesigns. They were perfect!
How perfect are these decorations?! I found them on Etsy from a shop called TheShindiggityShoppe. Everything was so cute and the owner was very friendly and accommodating with my time frame. I waited a little long to order them. The cupcake toppers, cake topper, crown cupcake wraps, photos from the book, banner, goodie bags, and monster logos on the water bottle were all from her. the wooden cupcake stands are also from her shop. I loved everything!
Before the huge chocolate mess! The Wild One balloons are from an Etsy shop called TheFulfilledShop.
Boom! Right to the face. I love Jaxon’s smile just as much as the cake in Jasper’s face. In the video Jaxon is dying laughing and it great!
Right after he nailed me in the face with a big handful of cake!
